Sophia Meador is a journalist specializing in health care policy and administration, disease prevention and community health. She is a health reporter for The Nation’s Health, where she also serves as host, producer and editor of The Nation’s Health Podcast and manages the publication’s X account, @nationshealth.
Before joining the publication, Meador was opinion editor of The Daily Iowan. She has also served in mentorship roles at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication and interned in the strategic communications department at the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
Meador earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa in 2024, double majoring in journalism and mass communication and political science. She is pursuing a Master of Science in health communication for social change at City University of New York and is slated to graduate in spring 2028.
